Twelve-year-old Connecticut Malpractice Case Finally Settled

A Bridgeport, Connecticut Superior Court jury has awarded over $16 million to the family of a 49-year-old man who died of a heart attack over 12 years ago. The jury made the award to the estate and widow of Gary Carlson, a truck driver who died in 1994. The case was against Stamford Medical Group and Dr. Robert Goldsmith. The widow and estate accused the Stamford Medical Group of failing to diagnose and treat his cardiac disease.

This award was one of the largest wrongful death verdicts in Connecticut history. Carlson had been working three jobs to support his family at the time of this failed diagnosis.
